I love Slim Gaillard. I love the way his music makes me feel. The lightness, the joy, the sheer life, without anything complicated or confusing to worry about. I think this is the first time I have ever fallen in love with music. I love Slim Gaillard! I love him! I love him! Let the whole world know! I also am having a love affair with the "latin jazz" radio stations on the internet. It's such fantastic spontaneous, fast, weird, joyful music. In one week I'm getting on an airplane and going to Moscow, Idaho. Thats all I have. good night.

(Re-beat...).......Concrete!

First you get some gravel,
(From the streams) about.
You mix a mess of mortar,
(Splash) a mess of water,
See the mello-roonie come out!
Slurp, slurp, slurp....

Cement mixer, putti putti,
Cement mixer, putti putti,
Cement mixer, putti putti,
Who wants a bucket of cement?

I have a new nick name. I am happy because I have to say I was not happy with my old one. I love nick names but my brother has a tendancy to pick annoying ones for me. Over the years he has called me: Mary, Mariam, Ellen, Fat Girl, OoKh (sister in arabic), Bin Ladin, Ladin, and now, finally Timbuk, as in Timbuktu. He's called me Bin Ladin for the past 5 years, and finally, he started calling me Timbuk. There is joy in my heart today.

No further cosmic developments are scheduled this week. Please interpret any as anomalies and ignore.

That is a grand horiscope!

It's Friday! I did not sleep last night, but I finished my lab report. My 30 page lab report! Ask me anything you want to know about surface tension - anything at all, and I will answer it with great excitement because I think I know everything there is to know about surface tension.

It's almost Friday! I feel good. I am wearing a t-shirt from my arabic class. It says in Arabic "University of bleep at bleep" on the front, and on the back, in arabic caligraphy "The action is mightier than the word." I think it's a funny sentence to put on a shirt that I got in my arabic language class. I ate dinner outside today and a girl from my arabic class last year saw me and stopped to talk. She is a fascinating person. She told me a story about how she got married once, for 6 months and nobody knew about it. It was her freshman year of college, and it was to a guy who she'd been dating for about 1 and a half years. He was charming and sweet to her, but he was not a US citizen and her parents didn't like him. So she didn't tell them about the wedding. She didn't tell anyone. They got married very quietly. Before getting married they had never had an argument. Shortly after getting married, they got into a huge fight because he said some biggoted things. He had never said biggoted things before. After the fight, they didn't have much contact for several months because he lived in a different city, other than emails in which he kept asking her when they were going to get him a green card. Then he emailed her and asked her to do his cousin's homework. Then she got an email from her Scholarship provider saying that part of the requirements for her to keep her scholarship was that she not get married. They advised her to "quietly and discretely get a divorce" or they would withdraw the scholarship. Seeing that her marriage wasn't going so well, she got a divorce!

I wish I could go to sleep tonight and when I wake up in the morning it would be Friday May 7th. Oh loathsome week! This week is going to be rough. But I'll survive and in due course, I will wake up and find that it is Friday May 7th. When I wake up, on Friday May 7th, the smile on my face will be as big as it can possibly be, and I'll stretch and yawn and pull the blanket back over my head and go back to sleep. Friday May 7th means that I have three big fat juicy months ahead of me of summer! No classes, labs, tests, or any of that nonsense! And I'll be in Idaho! Idaho isn't very exciting, but chemisty is exciting and doing research instead of school is going to be awesome.

Somthing weird about today is that it is COLD. May 1st, and it is COLD. By COLD I mean around 50 degrees. A cold front came through last night, so yesterday it was HOT and HUMID. It always gets hot and humid in these parts, before it gets cooler.

Thats all. Buenos noches.
